Madrid
At the beginning, surf enthusiast Jerry Madrid began to build boards for his needs. Later, his enthusiasm changed into a business plan and began to shape and design his own skateboards. Madrid was one of the first to start surfing on asphalt. In the 1960s Jerry produced the first plates made of glass fibers, in various shapes, sizes and various surfaces. "In some way, one thing fit into the other - and suddenly I was doing skateboards," says Jerry. In 1979 Madrid made the first Downhill concave. Since then, Madrid Skateboards is a serious and respected company in the skateboard industry. Nowadays, the boards are still made from a combination of traditional and modern crafts, and that is why Madrid has become one of the world's leading and respected record manufacturers. Today the Madrid brand produces not only skateboards but also castors and bearings.
