Mervin founded Mike Olson and Pete Saari in 1977. Nowadays, when most companies have moved production to China or off the US coast, Mervin remains the longest-running and at the same time a key factory for snowmaking in the US, and at the same time it is a straightforward link between riding and production. The base is a Seattle factory and began production of Lib Technologies, Gnu and Bent Metal bindings. From the beginning, Mervin was led by snowboarders and employed only people who want to ride and keep going forward. Since its inception, the team of robots deserves many innovations in the development of snowboarding. Recently, the Lib Tech Experiment was responsible for the Snowboard Revolution by discovering the so-called MagneTraction Edge. Technology has improved edge stability, making riding on the icy surface as fun and comfortable as dust. Subsequently, a new snowboard design was discovered, replacing the spring in the center of the so-called "rocker" camber. Starting from the slogan "Snowboard is not skis," engineers from Mervin gave a goodbye to the ski geometry era and started a new era based on real snowboard geometry and claim SkateBanana's future!
